The short version
This extension has no account, no tracking, no analytics and no advertising. It does not build a profile of you and it does not sell anything about you, because it does not gather anything about you.
What is stored, and where
Four settings, kept by your own browser:
- the caption language you chose
- your caption text size
- whether captions are showing or hidden
- whether the Listen option is on
These stay on your device. If you have Chrome sync switched on, Chrome syncs them between your own devices through your own Google account, the same way it syncs your bookmarks. They are never sent to us. There is nothing else stored, on your device or on our servers.
What is sent to our server, and why
When you open a lesson or a live workshop inside the Posture Dojo community on Skool, the extension asks our caption server one question: are there captions for this page. To ask it, the extension sends the web address of that lesson page. That address is the only thing sent. No name, no email, no identifier, no account.
Our caption server does not keep a log of these requests. Like any server on the internet it briefly sees the network address your request came from in order to send the answer back, and it does not store it.
The extension only sends addresses inside the Posture Dojo community. It does not send the address of any other page, on Skool or anywhere else.
What the extension does on the page
Inside the Posture Dojo community, the extension adds a caption panel to the page and reads the video player’s current playback position, so that prepared captions stay in step with the video when you pause or skip back. That playback position stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere.
The extension’s code loads on skool.com generally, because Skool changes the address in your address bar without reloading the page and an extension that loaded only on one address would never start. Outside the Posture Dojo community it stays dormant: it shows no panel, no button, and contacts no server.
What the extension does not do
- It does not read, copy, or transmit the text, images, or video of pages you visit.
- It does not use your microphone or your camera.
- It does not record or transmit any audio.
- It does not keep a history of what you watch or which pages you open.
- It does not run on any site other than skool.com, and it does nothing on Skool outside
- It does not show advertising, and it does not sell or share data, because it collects
- It does not load or run any code from the internet. Everything it runs is inside the
Reading captions aloud
The Listen option uses the speech engine already built into your browser and operating system. The speaking happens on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere for it to work.
Children
This extension is a study aid for an adult membership community and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is sent or stored, the date at the top will change and the change will be announced inside the Posture Dojo community before it takes effect.
